Just purchased this at the Jeep and Truck Fest in Denver. This thing is everything advertised and more! Absolutely awesome! Fits like a glove and looks great in my dash. The navigation software is awesome and the 3D topo maps really pop. I absolutely love that everything is customizable and I can download my own apps. Well done, Insane Audio!

Absolutely awesome! Love that I can customize everything about it. Love the nav software including the 3D topography and the little jeep icon. Love that it fits perfect. Best upgrade for my JK so far!

Have been running my JK2001 for about 5 Months now and keep finding cool new uses. I control my LED lights, My 4K WaspCAM, and do all my music tethered to my iPhone over the Personal Hot Spot. I really love the look and performance of the device and I never run out of things to watch or listen to!
Plus, my home screen is totally custom…

This will be my 6 month review of the TJ1002 unit I installed in my 05 Rubicon LJ. To start off with , my Jeep is mostly all stock but the Flexalite Fan / Radiator, a Quadratec replacement 6″ sub and now the radio. When the stock radio went toes up, I started looking to replace it with a stock unit, or The Mopar Nav unit for it. “Bang for the buck” ratio was way to low to pursue that solution. I came across the Insane Audio unit one evening ,and that put my evil wheels of imagination to work. To sum it up , I made my decision to ride with Insane’s replacement because of the up graded radio w/ touch screen, Nav (with turn by turn that does not cut out your Jimi Hendrix groove), Way cool EQ, the Torque OBD2 ( tool to monitor your rig, and others too), and the Amp ( makes my stock 7 pc sound much richer in sound) . Make no mistake – This amp will not turn your old A$$ Jeep stereo into the Baddest Boom, Boom Sha -Wiggy, Wiggy Radio Box rolling down Beach. What it will do, is save you the new to you Jeep payment and you get to keep the piece of mind knowing someone elses booger hooks were not all over your Jeep installing it. Lastly, gotta the cams they really work spot on.

Overall the JK2001 is amazing. The radio is easy to install. The hard part is figuring out the capability and potential of the radio itself because it does so much.
Honestly, I wouldn’t purchase if you don’t have a “Hotspot” on your phone or a Mifi mobile hotspot, it requires it for full functionality. I don’t have it on my iPhone so I went and bought a Mifi and mainly use it for the Jeep. I also upgraded my stock speakers with Alpines and together the sound and functionality are amazing.
The only true complaint I have are some of the apps I use and thought would be great to use in the vehicle aren’t configured for the 9” screen therefore can’t be used on the JK2001 “AUTOsist” being one of them. It would be nice to be able to adjust the screen size to use the apps but I haven’t found that option yet (if there is one). So in short if you buy something like lights that have Bluetooth capability and app controlled I would download the app first and see if you have access to all the controls first. I just think the apps I wanted to use are designed for the screen on an Android phone or iPhone.
In closing, if your shopping around and want an awesome Jeep upgrade look no further, this is what you want. I have no regrets and look forward to getting accessories to connect to it. IT’S AWESOME!!!!!

This is a 30-day review of the JK2001 installed in my 2014 JK Wrangler Sport. 5-Stars. First off, the installation was as easy and fast as advertised. I did watch the instal video on Extreme Terrain. I recommend this before you start. The written directions included are excellent, and include a little humor so enjoy the read. I honestly could have had this unit in and done in 30 minutes. My extra time was an additional 2 hours meticulously routing the cable for the back-up and Rock Cams. Even the Rock Cam only took 20 minutes. I ran my rear camera cables down the inside of my frame rails then flush mounted into a /smittibilt XRC tire carrier on my XRC bumper. It all mounted very cleanly, but if this were a 4-door I would have not had enough cable.
The unit works great, learn how to feed the fish on the home screen (hint, a quick double tap on the screen drops a piece of yellow fish food). BUT, DON’T FORGET TO WATCH THE ROAD.
This thing does so much it can be a distraction. Let someone else drive while you play with it.
Sound quality is good right out of the box with the stock speakers. You can make it better by going into the EQ function, choose the middle icon and play with “BASS”, “LOUDNESS” and other functions to make the sound really pop! The steering wheel controls worked as well as the stock radio with no extra effort. Did I mention plug-n-play simplicity?
I find the NAV to be very accurate, and it will let you know when you have exceeded the posted speed limit. This feature can be turned off, but I find it useful when in unfamiliar cities. I have not had the opportunity to experience the “Off Road” NAV yet. Stay tuned for an update.
It mates effortlessly with my iPhone 11 via blue tooth. Phone calls are clear controls are standard for BT phone links. I found no need for the iPhone adapter to get CarPlay functions.
There are just too many functions, and apps to review individually. Yes this unit is pricey; but in my opinion, just the ease of the no-cutting, plug and play 30 minute installation is worth every dollar.
My only wish would be accelerometers in the unit. Without the accelerometers app store clinometer apps do not work. And so far that’s the worst I can say about this unit.
I have no problem whole-heartedly recommending the JK2001.
