Spotty GPS reception
Anyone else have difficulty with there GPS staying connected to the GPS satellites? I've tried rerouting wires, tightening the connection and rebooting the unit. I can be parked with full satellite acquisition and then nothing. Hoping to see if someone else has had this issue and how it was solved. Thanks.

I’m having the same problem. It takes 15-20 minutes for mine to locate the satellites

Re: Spotty GPS reception
Insane Audio support staff solved my issue by replacing my GPS antenna. The Nav engine works great.
Re: Spotty GPS reception
I noticed when I installed my JK2001 in my 09 JKU that I had the same problem. Also the OEM compass on the instrument cluster was always pointing West. The OEM compass module is mounted underneath the top part of the dash that you have to pop off to reach the bezel screws.( Not like the tray in later model JKs. I unplugged the module and all it did was turn off the OEM compass. When I removed the module completely the GPS acquisition problem went away. I had the Insane Audio GPS antenna mounted to the top of the head unit right next to the OEM compass module. I figured the two were interfering with each other. Hope this helps some who are having the same problem.

Thats a great point, and precicely why we include plenty of extra slack in our GPS antenna. No need to move that OEM compass module - you can always relocate your GPS antenna to another spot in your dash or even up in your roll bar padding.
Just remember to never zip tie the GPS cable - any excess cable should be left loose inside your dash.
