Fun with Funtreks!
Re: Fun with Funtreks!
PS meaning using Google Assistant to make verbal call requests.
Re: Fun with Funtreks!
OK I have used file browser to look at folders on GPS card in unit. The file structure is not the same as these instructions. I did find a POI folder but not sure how to access from nav since screen shots are way different than the JL3001.
Also there is no user folder following a similar file path listed in the intructions.
Help please and thanks

The folder structure is a little different - instead of Insane_NavEngine, the first folder is iGO. But then under content, if you don't see a userdata folder just create it. Then POI should be created inside that folder. Let us know if that doesn't work but it should. Yes - we moved things around a bit for Insane NavEngine v3.0 (for the JL3001).
You can also add POI's through the user interface of the NaviExtras toolbox.
Lastly, if you haven't tried yet, we definitely recommend checking out BackCountry Navigator. No affiliation with us but it is a great supplement to Insane NavEngine and you can run 'em both at the same time!

Hey great read on Funtreks. Since it’s a few years old, it doesn’t talk at all about the JL3001. Can you provide an updated information (or better yet a new thread with JL3001 images) on using Funtreks with the latest NavEngine on the JL3001? I’m considering getting one of their data cards for an upcoming trip to Moab this summer.

This will work in a very similar way on our 3000 platforms but you have correctly noticed that there may be some minor differences (i.e. file paths may be different). Our engineering staff will post an update here at some point in the near future with more detailed instructions. We’re a bit short staffed at the moment so it may be a week or so.
In the meantime, check out this great writeup on how to use sat imagery on your Insane Audio head unit. That’ll be great to use on your trip to Moab! https://insaneaudio.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=7&t=4294
