File handling / memory

Post by deadmoon » Sat Apr 23, 2016 4:48 am

Hi,

I have a fair sized music collection, that until recently was divided into FLAC and MP3/4 collections. I combined these onto a Samsung T1 Portable 500GB USB 3.0 External SSD (MU-PS500B/AM) in two separate directories ( flac and mpX), and now it takes about 30 minutes for everything to index and come online. There are about 2500 folders total. Are there any tips / tricks for speeding this up ? Is it a memory limitation on the JK1001 ( and can I add more memory ) ? Thoughts ?

I have a Patriot XT 256gb flash drive that I keep music and videos on and it finds everything fast

Hey there, deadmoon!

Thanks for reaching out to us! I would advise placing your music files on to a MicroSD card for speed purposes. The MicroSD slot on the lower right corner of the JK1001 will accept up to 256GB. You can also get a super low-profile USB flash drive and leave it plugged in to the extra USB port on the back of the unit (each USB port will accept up to 256GB as well). These should help your load times with music!

Thanks!
