JK1001 Crashing after boot

We are having issues with our JK1001. This morning, our system wouldn't come on when we started our Jeep, so we went through the usual reboot and full reset rituals.

We're able to reset and restore to stock settings, though after the system boots, it shows the "desktop" and then immediately begins to shutdown.

When the above happens, the only way to get the system to come back up is to hold the power button, hit the reset button, then release the power button. At that point, it once again boots to the android restore view where we select "reboot." The system goes through the boot screen (Insane Audio Logo), then boots to the desktop and once again immediately shuts down after reaching the desktop screen.

We have also walked through the steps of updating the firmware to 2.1 using the software and steps outlined on this site.

We've had so many problems with this unit over the years, though we have always been able to reset, start over, then reload. This time; however, we are stuck with a dead unit. Since we're able to reset, boot and see the desktop before everything shuts down, we're hoping there's a flash option or something similar we can try.

If it helps, we generally see the "initializing storage" dialogue box as the system indicates it's shutting down.

We'd appreciate any support you could provide.
