Disabling/Deleting Factory Music Player

Post by THespos » Mon Jul 08, 2019 10:19 am

Greetings. Got the JK2001 into my Jeep the other day, was messing around and thought I'd ask about the Music app included as a default.

I like the performance and look/feel of Poweramp more than I do the stock app. But I can't seem to delete the stock app or permanently disable it. I wanted to delete it because it has this annoying habit of popping up when it pairs with my phone and starting automatically to stream music from it. And that cuts off whatever music I'm listening to with Poweramp.

Any way to disable or delete?

I'd call this a bump, but the OP hasn't moved out of the top position. Is this a dead forum? If so, maybe I'll try the /r/Android subreddit or something...

The behavior of the default Music app has gotten more annoying. Not only does it fire off and pre-empt PowerAmp whenever my phone is re-connected, but it's doing it at startup as soon as my SD card mounts.

Never mind. I figured this out on my own.

If you're having the same issue, Settings -> Apps has an option you can use to disable it.
