We thought we'd do a quick post for folks looking to hook up their steering wheel controls for their WJ.
Firstly, you need to hook up the green and white wire labeled Steering Wheel on your TJ1001 wiring harness to the right wire on your vehicle.
For a 1999-2004 WJ, this would be the R/YL lead in the steering column. You'll want to cut it and connect it to the steering wheel wire on your TJ1001. Leave the PCI wire disconnected. For reference, here is a wiring diagram from the good people over at wjjeeps.com -- www.wjjeeps.com/radio_remotediag.jpg
Once you've got everything connected properly, go into the steering wheel programming interface on the TJ1001...
1). First press any button on your steering wheel. The voltage of the button will be identified and shown on the user interface. Then press all the buttons on the steering wheel one by one and you can start function mapping.
2). Touch any one of the button maps on the screen captioned with the voltage (i.e. 1 through 9) and the button will be highlighted.
3). Then press one of the function buttons below to assign that to the respective control.
4). Once you have mapped all of your steering wheel buttons, press the save button on the bottom left of the screen to save your results.
Then you should be good to go!
