Re: driving while using the Nav

One of my biggest gripes with the factory Nav system is that I nor a passenger can use the Nav while the vehicle is in motion. It will allow me to do an insane amount with the touchscreen, including typing a destination address but won't activate a route until I stop. I get the safety thing but the...

Re: Installing the JK1001 in something other then a JK

Hi, All. Plenty of folks have asked us whether or not this will fit something other then a 2007 - 2014 Jeep Wrangler. While the JK1001 was specifically designed and tested for Jeep JK's, it will most likely fit a number of other Jeep, Dodge and Chrysler vehicles. That being said, however, we haven'...

Re: What are your favorite in-car apps?

We'll chime in and add on to this list... Google Earth for Sat imagery. It's a great navigation tool to supplement...

Re: How To Force JK1001 Reboot?

Hitting the power button seems to just put it into a sleep mode, but leaving the car off for some period does a full shutdown. Is there a way to force a JK1001 reboot for hardware/software troubleshooting purposes? Just turning off the key and waiting for a few minutes. We built a fairly large capa...

Re: Naviextra updates

Yes -- you need to remove the GPS card from your JK1001 and connect it to a laptop to access naviextras.com.

We're working on an android based solution for the future (so you can connect directly through your JK1001) but at the moment this is all we've got for updates.

Re: Adjustable audio output level per each input?

One thing that drives my crazy on the stock head unit is I have to crank up the volume when I have my phone plugged in (iPhone if that matters) to be the same level as the radio. But when the phone is unplugged the radio is really loud. Pioneer receivers have the ability to adjust the output level ...

Re: Android operating system vs.

Just a random question here. I know the head unit is powered by Android (brilliant move BTW.) I noticed recently that Microsoft is providing it's OS for free for any devices with less than a 9" screen. Reports indicate that by doing this, it is now cheaper for OEM's to produce Microsoft OS device's...
