Thanks! The clips on the cable threw me off and I wondered if it wasn`t some sort of serial cable for programming the unit.

Rats. Perhaps one day there will be an upgraded wiring harness that will allow it to function without having to mess with the stock wiring? I'm actually looking to connect my external XM radio without having to use the lackluster fm transmitter that is built into it. I'll just have to run an RCA-3.5...

OEM aux plug

Is there a way to use this with the FJ1001 or is my only option to use the aux wires from the wiring harness? I would much prefer the cleaner use of the onboard aux plug on my dash for hooking up aux devices.

Mystery wire...

So I just got my new FJ1001 and am about to install it. There is this wire that isn't mentioned anywhere in the installation guide so I was wondering what it is and if I need to have access to it or even connect it. The connector coming out of the top left side of the back of the unit looks similar ...
