Overview: It’s summer, you’ve got a Jeep , and the beach is calling — check out this list of fun things to do at Huntington

Let’s just jump right into this. Summer is here and we want you to put your Jeep to use, as it should be! This list of Jeep beach activities is the perfect way to start your summer. Grab a few friends or go solo! Either way you do it, the end result is fun… literally.

As if this shouldn’t be the first thing on this list! Carfax says the Gladiator is perfect for the beach because of its towing capability, removable doors, fold-down windshield, and durable interior.

Many have witnessed the mighty Jeep getting stuck in deep soft sand while driving on the beach. Don’t be misled — this is mainly due to driver error and lack of good judgment.

Remember that your Jeep isn’t immune to the effects of sand and just like any other vehicle; yes, it’s durable, but if you don’t abide by the laws mother nature, you won’t be able to “play outside” for very long without getting in some trouble.

The Best Beach Driving Tips:

These steps should be followed right before you hit the beach:

  1. Deflate your tires to between 10 to 15 psi.

  2. Carry tow straps, a shovel, and a spare tire.

  3. Have a driving buddy with you, if at all possible.

If you only adhere to 1 of these 3 things, make it the first point — deflate your tires.  Doing so is absolutely essential to effectively driving on sand (read: to not get stuck).

The van life has been such an explosive concept that there was bound to be some exploration. Some have started living out of their vehicles after building out some simple amenities. Sure, you can’t really fit things like a shower or cooking range, but the more skilled are able to squeeze in the likes of a gas range, queen bed, and tankless toilet! (Maybe we’ll omit the latter.)

Use your Jeep as a camping set up on the beach… at least for a night. You’ll go to sleep to the sound of the waves and wake up to a beautiful Socal sunrise.

With a few minutes of YouTube videos and a bed cover, you can have your own bed with pull-out kitchens and heating all set to go. If you’re driven enough, you can even opt-out of rent or mortgages and just live in your truck! All you really need is a gym membership.

Yes, movies on the beach are a thing. But so is setting up a movie night in your Jeep while parked at the beach.

It can be as simple as some blankets, pillows, and popcorn and as fancy as mounting a projector outside of the car and setting up an iPad with surround sound.

This time-honored tradition involves filling your Jeep with coolers, driving to a parking lot or field (in this case, the beach) and setting up a barbecue. But you don’t need to settle for sitting on the open tailgate. You can turn your Jeep into an entire lounge. Add a couch, a big-screen, and maybe even a grill right out the back.

You can also fill your entire Jeep bed with ice. Use the same pool liner and dump a few dozen pounds of ice into the back of the Jeep to prevent leaking. Store cases of beer, soda, and condiments, and when the ice melts, pour it out… or have a water fight

Pick a clear night and great location, and make sure you check the weather continuously up until the night of the watch. If cloud cover pops up, just reschedule.

Bring a comfy blanket and some snacks, as star gazing can be a longer activity as the night sky will change over time. If you have little ones, make sure you bring a comfy blanket and pillows.

Our friends over at 4WD summarized it best: Driving on beach sand with a Jeep is unlike any other vehicle. It is a much more exhilarating experience and way more fun. That’s because the Jeep is one of the last thorough-bred off-road vehicles around with a strong off-road pedigree. Jeeps are capable of driving in a variety of off-road conditions and have the ability to pretty much go anywhere.
